Central Station Communications – IP-based Products

For Broadband, Internet, LAN and WAN

The transmission of alarm data using Internet Protocol (IP) is an increasingly popular means of improving communications speed and efficiency whilst simultaneously reducing the recurring costs associated with more traditional (PSTN) circuits.

Using a corporate LAN or WAN, and / or the public ADSL network, fire, security, plant and access control alarms and events can be transmitted to a receiving centre, at relatively low cost and with a number of additional benefits:

  • Faster data transmission, with near real-time information provision
  • Richer levels of information, enabling better decisions / response
  • Ability to connect to a wider variety of remote equipment
  • Ability to control remote equipment and plant
  • Improved system integrity; early detection of remote site equipment
  • Easy to create, dual signal paths using GSM /GPRS as a backup

At Bold, we work with a number of IP-based product providers and can deliver IP-based solutions for both existing (retrofit) and new installations. We also apply our expertise in other communications media (especially IP + GSM) to create effective dual path communications facilities for central stations and their account customers

Lack of an industry standard for IP – Bold has a solution!

As yet, there is no single standard for alarm communications over IP. Each equipment vendor supplies a specifically designed protocol which is optimised for the particular equipment. Use of several vendors, means several protocols to support.

Our expertise in software development and especially our experience in communications software enables us to deliver drivers and gateways to enable connection of best-of-breed products from any vendors to be connected to our Mini Bold and Manitou management systems.
